Clinical Research

What is Clinical Research?

At the Department of Dermatology, we conduct research on various skin diseases to ensure that optimal treatments are provided to patients. Our goal is to continuously improve diagnostic methods and treatment approaches.

Such efforts to enhance diagnosis and treatment are generally referred to as clinical research.

Purpose of Clinical Research

The results obtained from clinical research are compiled into reports, ensuring that all personal information and privacy-related details are removed. These findings are then shared with the medical community through:

  • Academic publications
  • Presentations at conferences
  • Development of new treatment methods

Through this process, clinical research contributes to the advancement of better treatments for future patients diagnosed with the same conditions.

It is important to note that all current medical treatments and drugs have been developed through years of accumulated research and rigorous clinical trials.

Ongoing Medical Research

Our department is currently conducting several medical research studies.

There are two types of clinical research participation:

  1. Research requiring direct patient consent – Patients and their families receive detailed explanations and provide informed consent before participating.
  2. Research that does not require direct patient consent – In these cases, relevant research information is publicly disclosed, allowing transparency while maintaining patient confidentiality.

For studies classified as “Information Disclosure,” related documents are publicly available. If you have questions about any of these studies, or concerns about identifiable personal data, please refer to the contact information provided in each research document.
